Someone–anonymous–has donated $286,000 to . This is simply amazing, cool and exciting. I am glad you exist and a deep thank you to whoever you are. Could you have made more extravagant use of this money? . But thank you for not doing so.
Here is a screen shot of that donation:
Check out the and consider .
PS – to Mr Anonymous. If you are a billionaire and $286k means little to you then well thanks anyway, but why not go for some bigger headlines (and more internal satisfaction, and possibly a top floor executive suite in heaven) and round it up to a $1 million donation?
I haven’t written in forever…for whatever reason…but I have finally found something to blog about. This little video not only excites me as a person but also as a web developer (the cool use of web technology). Take a look here and tell me what you think:
An article in the Boston Globe talks about how there are books in modern libraries that are bound in Human Skin! That is fascinating as well as disgusting. I would definitely like to see one of those books though.
A number of prestigious libraries — including Harvard University’s — have such books in their collections. While the idea of making leather from human skin seems bizarre and cruel today, it was not uncommon in centuries past…

And on another note…I went shopping with Tiku yesterday. It was the first time I had fun shopping…it was an inspiring experience. I ended up getting two pairs of jeans from Express. I am wearing one of them right now Comfy!
Another benefit of shopping for clothes is that it inspires me to work out. So hopefully this dose of motivation will last for a bit. I am going to start food journaling again, and hopefully I’ll be able to lose some of the weight I’ve put on in these last few months in California! Hope you all are well…and hope 2006 is going well for you so far!
At this moment, more than one thousand trillion ants are scurrying all over the Earth. If every human climbed aboard one side of a scale, and every ant crawled onto the other side, the scale would just about balance. –
When I first read that I was pretty amazed. 6 billion people weigh about as much as all the ants in the world! Is that not crazy? Today I stumbled upon this website, AntWeb, which catalogues and has hi resolution pictures of 10,000 different ant species of the world. They even have a section for ! I was addicted looking at the hi resolution pictures of different kinds of ants. They are all so unique, and complicated. Perhaps one of the smallest creatures that we see (often in disgust) in our daily lives.
Ants, one of the most successful groups of insects, are of particular interest because they form advanced colonies, and can constitute up to 15% of the total animal biomass of a tropical rainforest. –
It is also amazing looking at pictures of large ant hills (like ).
Anyway, just wanted to write about these amazing fellow living beings on our earth I spent some time looking into today…So next time, think twice about killing an ant!
This is the 200th post to this blog. It’s been almost a year since I started blogging! I remember when I started, the blogging concept hadn’t totally hit home yet with normal computer users…and so some of my friends (and my sister!) thought it was silly and a waste of time. These are the very same people who have their own blogs now
You know blogging is really a journey. The majority of bloggers abandon their blogs after a few weeks of writing. Why? I think it’s because they can’t tell that people are reading. It feels annoying to keep blogging when you don’t know if someone is reading. I guess it’s like that for me too…because it’s not like I get an overflow of user interaction (see below), or money (some bloggers make a living from blogging). I’ve enjoyed blogging just cause it is kind of like a diary for myself.
The feedback I get from readers is also good. But, really, for those 200 posts, I’ve gotten only 61 comments. That’s less than one comment every three posts. C’mon guys…lets see some more commenting! And don’t pretend you don’t read it…because I know you guys are coming There are about 10 visitors to my blog everyday.
But we’ve had some good times. Here are some highlights from the past 200 posts:
– The day I graduated from college
– The first poem posted…a Haiku
– A discourse on Smacking and Slapping…and the difference
– My birthday post
– The Halloween post…and a story about my first one
Here is an awesome poster of Michael Jordan that I wish I could get:
Poster reads: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Known as one of the most inspirational and classy MJ posters ever…gotta love it
I’ve totally been addicted to Altoids Tangerine Sours recently! If you eat too many, your tongue gets really nasty feeling cause they are sour…but they are SOOOO GOOD! You gotta try some Gotta thank my friend Quasar Hamirani for introducing them to me a long time ago in Grainger library while doing ECE 310 homework
